Rev. Donald J. Jacobson, 92, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Chapel Pointe, Carlisle. He was born on June 30, 1924 in Williamsport, PA, a son of the late James R. and Edith M. (Whittier) Jacobson. Don was married 65 years to the late Sylvia R. (McNemar) Jacobson who passed away on June 18, 2014.

Don was a graduate of Nyack Bible College and a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. He ministered 49 years in C&MA churches and 7 years with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. While pastoring, Don served 15 years as Christian Education Director for the C&MA West Central District and District License Ordination Committee. Don was a US Navy veteran of World War II serving in Oahu, HI.

He is survived by a daughter, Janice L. (husband, Edward) Seymour of Catlettsburg, KY, a son, David A. (wife, Jevgenia) Jacobson of Toccoa, GA, four grandchildren; Justin and Ryan Seymour, Lindsay Miller and Angelika Ozier, three great-grandchildren; Kenley, Copeland and Reagan, two nieces; Sharon Schmick, Carol Laylon and two nephews; Steve and Tom Reed. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Jacobson and a sister, Dorothy Reed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Henry Chapel at Chapel Pointe with Rev. Steve Motter officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Private burial will be in the LeTort Cemetery, Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
