Donald K. Baum, 86, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle.  He was born on April 11, 1933 in Carlisle and was a son of the late Zoura Melvin Baum and Ella Ruth (Kreider) Baum.  He was married to the late June Arlene (Finkenbinder) Baum who passed away on September 12, 2017.

Don had worked as a builder of Baum and Finkenbinder Builders most of his life.  He also worked for the former C. H. Masland & Sons and Peterman's Equipment both of Carlisle.  He was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church and was a volunteer with the West Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Co.  Don enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, card parties, volunteering with the Boy Scouts, playing guitar, woodworking and working on engines. Don enjoyed being a handyman for his family and helping others.

He is survived by one daughter, Joy (husband, Jesse) Middaugh of Dillsburg, four grandchildren; Donna Erickson Blain, Daniel Erickson, Courtney Middaugh and Colton Middaugh, one great-grandson, Everett Blain, two brothers; Sylvester and Marlin Baum and two sisters; Anna Thumma and Beulah Lippert, all of Carlisle and many nieces and nephews.  Don was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Erickson, one brother, John Baum and five sisters; Elizabeth Myers, Viola Baum, Myrtle Myers, Ruth Fry and Lois "Margaret" Baum.

A visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 followed by funeral services at 12:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Roger Yoder officiating.  Burial will be in Upper Frankford Brick Church Cemetery, Newville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Hill United Methodist Church, c/o Rev.
