Dolores A. Motter, 79, died Friday, January 10, 2014, in the Swaim Health Center at Green Ridge Village, Newville. She was born on Sept. 3, 1934, in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Charles E. John, Sr. and Lottie (Fury) John. She the widow of Delmar N. Motter, who died Sept. 1, 1970.

Dolores was a 1952 graduate of Chambersburg High School. She retired from the former Sprint Telephone Co., Carlisle, after 36 years of service in the marketing department. Dolores enjoyed bird watching.

She is survived by three sons; Steven J. Motter of Newville, Gary L. (wife, Sheri) Motter of Carlisle and Gregory B. (wife, Elizabeth) Motter of Mechanicsburg, one daughter, Barbara A. (husband, David) Gregoire of Newville, four grandchildren; Stefanie, Summer and Valerie Motter and Shaina Gibson, one great-grandson, Aiden Gibson and several nieces and nephews. Dolores was predeceased by one daughter, Sherri Linn Motter and one brother, Charles E. John, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Highway, Carlisle, with Chaplain Guy Baer officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the HarrisburgAreaHumane Society, Inc.
