Diane Stephanie Lucas, 66, of Boiling Springs, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 14, 2016 after a 13 month battle with cancer. She was born on February 2, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Stephen V. and Carmen R. (Ferreno) Butler.

Diane graduated from St. Nicholas High School in Wilkes-Barre and earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Duquesne University. Diane retired after 25 years of service with the Navy in Mechanicsburg, where she was a Procurement Analyst for the Naval Supply Systems Command. During this time she participated in the implementation of SAP & ERP Systems and was honored with the Meritorious Civilian Service Award for her service to the Navy. She then worked as a contractor to the Navy through Target Systems until her retirement in 2014. Diane was an avid reader, loved to travel and spend time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed having dinner and teas with friends, participating in the Red Hat Society and card making. Her love and selflessness made her a great spouse, parent and friend.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, Marlin L. Lucas, three children; Kristen (Brian) Hickey of Lincoln, CA, David (Robin) Cartwright of Carlisle and Victoria (Matthew) Christen of Carlisle, two brothers; Stephen (Carol) Butler of Finksburg, MD and Mark (Betty) Butler of Carlisle, five grandchildren; Ashley, Aaron, Joseph, James and Carmella and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle, with Rev. William C. Forrey. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A viewing will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations in Diane's name to St. Patrick Catholic School, 152 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
