Obituary

Denis M. Dumm, 52, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at The Johns-Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He was born on Monday, December 22, 1958, in Altoona, and is a son of James E. Dumm of Altoona and the late Eileen (O'Leary) Dumm.

Denis graduated in 1977 from Central Dauphin Vo - Tech and also graduated from an HVAC Technical School in Pittsburgh. He was currently employed by Quietside Corporation, Carlisle, where he was an HVAC Technician. Denny was a member of the Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church, Carlisle and the Carlisle Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ann M. (Rider) Dumm, one daughter, Kaylyn Gaffney of Mechanicsburg, two step-sons; Clarence Walters of Middletown and SSgt William Walters, US Army of Ft. Lee, VA, one step-daughter, Stephanie (and her husband, Joseph) Lewis of Elkridge, MD, three brothers; John Dumm of Boston, MA, James Dumm of Georgetown, SC and Thomas Dumm of Amherst, MA, five sisters; Maureen Orr of Jacksonville, FL, Kate Dortey of Lenox, MA, Mary Kane of Pittsfield, MA, Patricia O'Kelly of Pittsburgh and Theresa Brown also of Pittsburgh, two grandchildren; Julia Lewis and Tristan Gaffney and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Scott Hocker officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be held on Monday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church, 2135 Ritner Highway Carlisle, PA 17013.
