Dawn A. (Shroy) Reed, 85, formerly of Monroe Township, Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born on Monday, December 15, 1924, in Middletown, a daughter of the late Adam and Violet (Diffenderfer) Shroy and the widow of Guy R. Reed, who died May 5, 2008.

Dawn was a loving homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her home, doing crossword puzzles and flower gardening. She was preceded in death two brothers; Walter and Robert Shroy and two sisters; Audra Reider and Patricia Stence.

She is survived by a son, Eric R. Reed of Mechanicsburg, three brothers; Richard Shroy of Steelton, Donald Shroy of Middletown and Wayne Shroy of Dagsborough, DE, two sisters; Rae Hoffer of Winchester, CA and Peggyann Avery of Spotswood, NJ and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to celebrate Dawn's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Lewis Splain officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services.
