Daniel P. Mullane, 93, of Carlisle, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. He was born on April 17, 1921, in New York City, the son of the late Daniel P. Mullane, Sr. and Marguerite (Kehoe) Mullane.
Daniel was a 1939 graduate of Beacon High School and then attended the NYS School of Agriculture & Technology from 1939 - 1941 at Alfred, NY. He was a veteran of WWII, and served as an officer in the US Navy and the Merchant Marines in the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters. Daniel graduated from the Kings Point US Merchant Marine Academy and Syracuse University. He served as a special agent with the FBI and was assigned to the Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Philadelphia offices from 1952 - 1959. He was President of Shepherd Security Services, Inc. in New Jersey, which conducted investigations and security consultations with the insurance, financial and pharmaceutical companies in the New York and New Jersey areas.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Julia A. (Hickey) Mullane of Carlisle, four children; Michael (wife, Susan) Mullane of Miami, FL, Kathryn (husband, John) Drew of Phoenix, AZ, Patrick D. (wife, Barbara) Mullane of Carlisle and Mary M. Mullane of Claverack, NY, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Long Island National Cemetery, New York. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.
