Dale L. Noggle, 88, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011, in the peace and love of his home with his family. He was born on Thursday, June 7, 1923, in Mt. Holly Springs, a son of the late George and Ella (Lutz) Noggle.
Dale was a 1942 graduate of Carlisle High School and served with the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a carburetor man and airplane engine mechanic with the 4th Engine Overhaul Squadron, 4th Air Depot Group and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Dale was known as "Our Hat Guy" and had worked on approximately 50,000 hats. He was proud of his work and especially liked seeing someone wear one of his hats outside the workplace. Dale was a member of the Carlisle First Church of God. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and after 26 years on the waiting list he became a season ticket holder for the last twelve seasons.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Janet E. (Baish) Noggle, one son, Michael (and his wife, Lavon) Noggle of Carlisle and several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
