Constance J. "Connie" Rummel, 79, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. She was born on Feb. 22, 1936 in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Eugene Nickel, Sr. and Helen (Rife) Nickel.

Connie was a 1954 graduate of Carlisle High School. She was a member of Carlisle United Methodist Church. She was a loving homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family and her home.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Robert W. Rummel, Sr., one daughter, Gina Snyder of Newville, one son, Robert (wife, Lisa) Rummel, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL, one brother, Eugene Nickel of Carlisle, two granddaughters; Kayla Snyder of Newville and Megan (husband, Nick) Wardle of Carlisle, one sister-in-law, Edith Goodhart of Mt. Holly Springs, one niece and one nephew. Connie was predeceased by one son-in-law, Mark R. Snyder, who died Jan. 30, 2015.

A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover Str., Carlisle, with Rev. Mira Hewlett officiating. Interment will be private at Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Carlisle United Methodist Church, 45 S. West Str., Carlisle.
