Peter Franz Dauber, U. S. Army

Colonel (Ret) Peter Franz Dauber, U. S. Army, 88, formerly of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Green Ridge Village, Newville. He was born in 1935 in Babati, Tanganyika, and was the son of the late Richard M. Dauber and Stephanie O. (Schewior) Dauber.
Peter graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, and in 1970 he earned a Masters degree in business from the University of Rhode Island. He retired from the United States Army after 30 years of service. He earned numerous honors and awards for his two tours during the Vietnam War including the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, the Bronze Star Medal (3rd Oak Leaf Cluster) and the National Defense Service Medal. Peter was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Carlisle and former member of the Carlisle Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Ingrid Irene (Model) Dauber of Newville, two sons, Thomas D. and his wife Rebecca Dauber of Vienna, VA and Stephan C. Dauber of Daytona Beach, FL, and grandson, Carl Peter Dauber of Vienna.
