Clyde L. Fisher, 80, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at his home with family by his side. He was born on October 18, 1943, in Carlisle and was a son of the late Albert Fisher and Blanche Irene (Hays) Fisher.
Clyde graduated from Carlisle High School and immediately entered the United States Marine Corps. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Clyde retired from Carlisle Tire and Wheel after 34 years of service. He was a member of VFW Post 477 and Eagles Aerie 1299, both of Carlisle. Clyde attended Green Spring First Church of God, Newville. He enjoyed and was dedicated to following his great-granddaughters, Jordyn and Addisyn Page sports teams. Clyde loved spending time with family and friends at picnics and gatherings and playing poker. He will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Darlene J. (Luttrell) Fisher, three children, Kimberly Gross of Carlisle, Tammy (husband Marlin) Laughman of Newville and Todd (wife Wendy) Wiser of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, Amanda Page, Stacy Garman, Kraig Wiser and Derek Wiser, seven great-grandchildren, Jordyn Page, Addisyn Page, Jaxton Garman, Brynlee Garman, Brently Wiser, Riley Wiser and Beau Wiser and many nieces and nephews. Clyde was predeceased by brothers, Jimmy Kulla, Dick Bartos, Albert Fisher, Jr., Robert Fisher and Joseph Fisher and his sisters, Marguerite Ostrander, Beverly Miller, Kay Hockensmith, Scarlet Lichtenberger and Connie Hutchinson.
A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Philip Steele officiating. Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
