Cheri K. Kessler, 77, of Carlisle, Pa., passed away on Saturday October 19 at UPMC Carlisle.  She was born on December 10,  1946 in Carlisle to the late Christene (Baughman) and William Hemperly.  She was predeceased by her brother Kerry Hemperly.

Cheri graduated from Carlisle Senior High in 1964 and worked for the Pennsylvania State Department of Labor and Industry for over 30 years.  She was very proud of her service and received a certificate of appreciation from the state upon her retirement.  Cheri was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi in the Laureate Epsilon Rho Chapter where she participated in many activities.  She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.  Cheri had lived at the Carlisle Nursing and Rehab Center since March 2020.

She is survived by two first cousins, Velma G. Conway and Terry J. Gebhard.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Churchtown.  The Ewing Brothers Funeral Home in Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements.
