IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlene R.
March
March 22, 1956 – July 17, 2025
Charlene R. March, 69, of New Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at UPMC Carlisle. She was born on March 22, 1956, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Ray L. and Betty A. (Slusser) Sweeney. She was the widow of Robert "Bob" Rinehart who passed away on May 1, 2015.
Charlene was of the Christian faith. She was a devoted homemaker and caregiver to many. She gave even when she didn't have. Mom had a heart of gold full of love. Her smile was as beautiful as she was inside and out. The stories she had told of her growing up and of family, friends and those she encountered were hilarious and you couldn't help but laugh and the laughter also came with tears in your eyes because of how she told them as she was laughing herself. Mom was a person with many talents and gifts. She enjoyed drawing and painting and had a love for animals. There wasn't any animal that she could not tame. Domesticated and wild, she had the gift of trust and comfort that the animals felt from her. She was respected by all and the one that was the "go to" when someone needed to talk or needed help, she had the gift of love, peace and comfort that you could always feel from her. She was the matriarch of the family and she will be deeply missed. We love you Mom.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessica March of Mechanicsburg and Marsha Garman of Newville, two brothers, Mark and Benjamin Sweeney, three sisters, Sheila Mathna, Rose Unger and Linda Chastain, her grandchildren, Brittany Kremski, Cheyenne Magbie, Austin Miller, Kearia Rhoades, Trista Garman, Abriella Garman, Anthony Cox, C. J. Cox and Landen Yale, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Sweeney and Clyde Feister and one sister Deb Group.
A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Mark Sweeney and Rev. Arvin D'Silva officiating. The burial will be in Mount Holly Springs Cemetery. EwingBrothers.com.
