Carolyn E. Brown, 81, formerly of Carlisle, died on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Green Ridge Village, Newville. She was born on April 30, 1934 in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Paul R. Young 1st. and Dorothy (Myers) Foltz, and was the widow of Donald M. Brown, who died on Aug. 21, 1987.

Carolyn attended Carlisle High School. She enjoyed being a homemaker and also designing and making dried flower arrangements, which she would offer for sale at local markets. She was a member of the former Allison United Methodist Church, Carlisle, and a former member of the Carlisle Civic Club.

She is survived by one son, Robert M. (wife, Dosha) Brown of Carlisle, one daughter, Donna L. (husband, Jerry) Kern of Newville, a half-brother, Paul Young, 2nd, two half-sisters; Linda Young and Rita Young, all of Carlisle, two granddaughters; Jennifer M. Clouser and Ashley E. Rosenberger and four great-grandsons; Aaron and Hayden Clouser and Gavin and Liam Rosenberger.

Services to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Jim Abe officiating. Interment will be private at Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of services.
