Obituary

Carole A. Ramsey, 79, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at UPMC Carlisle.  She was born on August 26, 1944, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Robert Foster and Elizabeth (Smith) Foster and was the widow Leon G. "Mount" Ramsey, Sr. who passed away on April 13, 2019.

Carole graduated from Carlisle High School with the Class of 1962.  She retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield after many years of service as a supervisor.  Carole was a member of the Bibleway  Hibner Memorial Church of God in Christ, Carlisle where she was a member of the choir and a former Sunday School teacher.  Carole was a faithful member of her high school class breakfast and lunch club.

She is survived by one son, Troy (wife, Amber) Ramsey of Carlisle, one daughter, Vinette (husband, Melvin) Powell of Carlisle, two brothers, Larry (Anna) and Richard (Stephanie) Foster both of Carlisle, six sisters, Evelyn Smallwood of Carlisle, Barbara Collins of Carlisle, Sharon (Donald) Wansley of Harrisburg, Vina Stokes of Harrisburg, Karen Amerson of Carlisle and Sarah Byers of Carlisle, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Carole was preceded in death by one son, Leon G. "Lon" Ramsey, Jr. who died June 11, 2011, two sisters, Beverly Floyd and Clara Thomas, four brothers, Robert, Henry, James and Eric Foster and one great-grandson, Jaiden Carnes.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Robert Woodall officiating.  A viewing be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services.  The burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  www.Since1853.com.
