Obituary

Carol Ann (Creel) Sholly, 66, Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010, in Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Tuesday, October 26, 1943, in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late James O. and Floy Christina "Tina" (White) Creel. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James E. Creel of Norfolk, VA.

She is survived by three sons; Michael L. Sholly of Virginia Beach, VA, Todd A. Sholly of Foster, RI and Donald E. (and his wife, Angie) Sholly of Carlisle, five grandchildren; Tarah Freeman, Ryan and Christopher Sholly and Rome and David Oliver and three great-grandchildren.

Carol was a 1961 graduate of Camp Hill High School and retired from the PA Department of Health with 34 years of service. Carol was a certified EMT-M for 15 years and was a life member of the Silver Springs Ambulance & Rescue Assoc, a long time member of the Cumberland County EMS Council and a past member of the Cumberland County Animal Rescue Team. Carol attended the Waggoners United Methodist Church, Carlisle.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2010, in the Waggoners United Methodist Church, 1271 Longs Gap Rd., Carlisle, with Rev. Timothy Funk officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held on Monday from 6 p.m. until time of the services. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Project Share, 5 N. Orange St., Carlisle, PA 17013 or to Helen Krouse Animal Foundation, P.O. Box 311, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
