Carl H. Moyer, 69, formerly of Ickesburg, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at ManorCare Health Services in Carlisle. He was born on Friday, September 19, 1941, in Carlisle, a son of the late Benjamin M. Moyer, Sr. and Esther M. (Miller) Moyer.

Carl was a factory worker most of his life and had worked in factories in Adams, Cumberland, Perry and York Counties. He was also a gifted woodworker. Carl was known as a man with a big heart and would help his neighbors and friends with anything they might need.

He is survived by two sisters; Ida M. Goshorn and Susan J. Stone both of Carlisle and many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by three brothers; John, Sylvester and Benjamin Moyer, Jr. and two sisters; Ruth Brandt and Gayle Lebo.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Keith A. Searfoss officiating. Burial will be in LeTort Cemetery, Middlesex Twp. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the services. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association or to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
