C. Berniece Gibson, 90, of Carlisle and of Collins, MS,passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 in Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. She was born Friday, September 10, 1920 in Covington County, MS and wasthe daughter of the late Charlie and Mabelle (Jones) Wood.

Berniece was a housewife and a member of Salem Baptist Church, Collins, MS.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Douglas Neal Gibson of Collins, MS., three sons; Gary David Gibson of Emmonak, AK, D. Neil Gibson, Jr. of Carlisle and William Lee Gibson of Monroe, GA, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Pastor Keith Searfoss will officiate. Funeral services and viewing will also be held later this week in Collins, MS. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery, Taylorsville, MS.
