Bonnie M. Sechler, 70, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at home. She was born on April 9, 1947 in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late John Chastain, Sr. and Audrey (Longacre) Chastain. She was the widow of Samuel Sechler who passed away in 2002.

Bonnie was a homemaker and had worked at Forest Park Health Center and the former Carlisle Tire and Rubber Co. She was a member Great Hope Baptist Church, Carlisle and the Landisburg Church of God.

She is survived by two daughters; Cathy Varner of Carlisle and Stephanie (Keith) Sweger of Loysville, one son, Calvin (Kristina) Varner, II of New Buffalo, two brothers; John (Phyllis) Chastain, Jr. of Newville and David (Linda) Chastain of Carlisle, one sister, Sylvia Richcreek of Newville, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Chastain.

A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Dale Barrick officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association.
