Billy Lee Porter, 76, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at UPMC-Carlisle. He was born on May 14, 1942 in Chambersburg and was a son of the late Charles and Thelma (Shriner) Porter and was married to the late Evelyn N. (Ackerman) Porter who passed away on April 21, 2017.

Billy graduated from Shippensburg High School and shortly thereafter entered the US Navy. He was honorably discharged after serving from 1961 to 1966. Billy was a member of the Plainfield First Church of God. He retired from the Commonwealth of PA and had worked many years with SKF USA formerly in Shippensburg.

He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Carroll, two step-daughters; Luanne Jones and Cathy Harper and one step-son, Donald Farner, Jr.

In following Billy's wish services and interment will be private in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements. www.Since1853.com .
