Bettie J. Laughman, 88, of Carlisle, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at her son, Joseph's home in Carlisle. She was born on September 20, 1925, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Edward and Myrtle (Thumma) Albert.

Bettie retired from Knouse Foods Inc., Peach Glenn after 30 years of service. She formerly attended the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by eight sons; Harry Laughman of Tucson, AZ, Charles Laughman of Shippensburg, Joseph Laughman of Carlisle, Allen Laughman of Shippensburg, Marlin Laughman of Shippensburg, Larry Laughman of Carlisle, Gary Laughman ofOakville and Carl Laughman of Newville, one daughter, Mary Felker of Breezewood, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bettie was predeceased by one son, Paul Laughman, three brothers; George, Clarence and Bruce Albert and two sisters; Nell Barkley and Katherine Wolf.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Dona Cummings officiating. Burial will be private in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
