Betty L. (Peffer) Garman, 88, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at her home.  She was born on August 8, 1937, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late George Peffer and Hilda (Wolfe) Peffer.  Betty was married for 68 years to the late Paul L. Garman who died September 19, 2023.

Betty attended Boiling Springs High School.  She was a devoted homemaker and farmer's wife.  Betty was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church, Carlisle, the Cumberland County Farm Women Group 15 and the West Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.  Betty loved her family, playing cards, family vacations and bus trips.

She is survived by three daughters, Maxine (Jerry) Barrick, Dolores (Dave) Wiser and Karen (Bill) Neidigh, all of Carlisle, three brothers, Wayne, Marlin and Lloyd Peffer, three sisters, Evelyn Bear, Doris Sarber and Joyce Stine, seven grandchildren, Matt Barrick, Michelle McBride, Greg Barrick, Curt Wiser, Ryan Wiser, Jason Neidigh and Darren Neidigh, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Betty was preceded in death by one son Roger L. Garman, two brothers, Harold and Ralph Peffer and two sisters, Shirley Shughart and Lois Myers.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle.  The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastors Jimmy Kincaid and Herbert Kidd officiating.  The burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Memorial contributions may be made to the West Hill United Methodist Church, 399 Pinedale Rd, Carlisle, PA 17015.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
