Bessie A. Morgan, 80, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill.  She was born on October 24, 1943, in Simpson, PA and was a daughter of the late Roy Gardner and Alice Wayman.  She was widowed from Lee N. Stone who died in 2011.

Bessie graduated in 1962 from Franklin High School in Carbondale and earned her bachelor's degree in education from Shippensburg University.  She retired from John Harris High School in Harrisburg after 14 years of teaching math.  Bessie attended church at The Meeting House in Carlisle.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, gardening, and painting. Bessie's main joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Tom (Brenda) Morgan of Helena, MT, Blain (Faith) Morgan of Melbourne Florida, Kyle (Kyna) Morgan of Carlisle and Kyndle Morgan also of Carlisle, one sister Jan Darr (Dennis) of Newville, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by three children, Larry Morgan, Bryon Morgan, and Tonya Morgan.
