Bernita was a homemaker and formerly worked as a private housekeeper for several Carlisle area families. She was a faithful member of McClure's Gap Church God, Newville. Bernita often volunteered her time at the Doubling Gap Center Camp Yolijwa, Newville. In her younger years, Bernita volunteered in the kitchen to help the Upper Frankford Twp Fire Company with their festivals.

She is survived by two sons; Randy L. Moyer and his wife, Cindy Darr of Boiling Springs and Dale E. Moyer of Newville, one daughter, Diane Eyer and her husband, Kenny of Dallas, GA, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bernita was preceded in death by brothers; William, Melvin and Edgar Hoover and sisters; Agnus Chronister and Geraldine "Peg" Raudabaugh.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Robert Stauffer officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
