Barry James Ludwig, 60, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at home.  He was born on February 8, 1962, in Carlisle and is the son of Joan (Painter) Ludwig Benze of Carlisle and the late Robert J. Ludwig, Sr.

Barry graduated from Carlisle High School in 1980 and shortly thereafter joined the U. S. Navy.  He was honorably discharged in 1984 and was proud to be a "Shellback".  He was employed by the former Lear Corp for more than 20 years.  Barry earned his LPN certification and worked at the Sarah Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle for eight years.  He most recently was employed by Land-O'Lakes, Carlisle.  He formerly attended St. John's Episcopal Church in Carlisle.  Barry was a volunteer fire fighter with Union Fire Co., Carlisle for many years.  He was a member of the Carlisle Eagles.

He is survived by his wife Joanne C. (Miller) Ludwig, one son Conner (Amanda) Ludwig, one daughter Emily (Cody) Young, three stepchildren, Eric Naugle, Nikita Kraynak and Allison, three grandchildren, two sisters, Christy Ludwig Keen and Stephanie (Rob) Ludwig Mellinger and several nieces.  He was preceded in death by one brother Robert J. Ludwig, Jr.
