Barbara J. Wannyn, 82, of Carlisle, died on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on August 1, 1932, in Buena Vista County, Iowa, a daughter of the late Arthur M. and Golda B. (Schemel) Sauter, and was the widow of Sylvian Wannyn, who died April 15, 2009.

Barbara was a loving homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her family, playing bingo and dining out. She attended Bethel Assembly of God Carlisle.

She is survived by two sons; Ricky L. Wannyn of Camden, NY and Steve R. Wannyn of Carlisle, one daughter, Judy K. Finkey of Carlisle, one brother, Melvin Sauter, one sister, Linda Lesher, both of Carlisle, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A viewing will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Chuck Kish officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Carlisle, 1412 Holly Pike, Carlisle, PA 17015.
