Audrey Gail Adams, 84, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.  She was born on January 23, 1935 in Harrisburg and was the daughter of the late Archibald W. Fortney and Margaret Clara (Snyder) Fortney and the widow of Arthur Jacob Adams who passed away on June 21, 1996.

She graduated from the John Harris High School, Harrisburg.  Audrey retired from Cumberland County Sheriff's Department after many years of service.  She was a member of the former First United Methodist Church in Carlisle where she was active with the Boy Scout Troop 160 and the Sunday School Class.  Audrey enjoyed cross-stitching but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Michael Arthur Adams and his wife, Jean of North Wilkesboro, NC and their children; Jacob Adams, Eric and his wife, Jessica Adams and Dylan Adams, one brother, Robert B. Fortney and his wife, Bonnie of Camp Hill, one sister-in-law, Elaine Regi and her husband, Gerald of Carlisle, one great-grandson, Everett Adams and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Steve Motter officiating.  Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  www.Since1853.com.
