Obituary

Arnold L. Kohl, 80, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 in the Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. He was born on October 18, 1937 in Freeport, Illinois, and was a son of the late Arnold Oscar Kohl and Carrie (Plasch) Kohl.

He graduated in 1955 from Freeport High School and served in the US Navy as anInterior Communications Electrician-Petty Officer Second Class and was honorably discharge in 1958 and transferred to Reserve duty. Arnold retired from Carlisle Syntec where he worked as an Industrial Electrician in the Electrical Division, and was formerly employed with Baldwin Piano & Organs in Cincinnati for over 15 years. Arnold was a member of the Big Spring Fish & Game Assoc., AMVETS 274 and the Carlisle Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Earlene (Van Scyoc) Heckendorn of Carlisle, three daughters; Debbie Kohl and Michelle Kohl, both of Ashboro, NC and Denise Alexander of Hewitt, NJ, stepchildren; Lance Moore, Hollywood, FL, J. Moore ofMillidgeville, GA, Denise Ginter ofNewburg, Ed Shoap of Newville, Karin Gaugler of Bannerville, IL and Dean Gaugler of Fairfield, CT, his dog, Pierre, 6 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Kurtz andhis previous wife, Kathryn Jane (Lindsay) Kohl, who passed away in 1999.

A viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Rev. William Beck officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Grubbs Lutheran Church cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Mills. www.Since1853.com
