Arlene attended Blue Hill School. She was a loving homemaker and retired from the former Kinney Shoe Co., Carlisle, after 18 years of service. She formerly attended the Carlisle First Church of God.

She is survived by her devoted son, Bryan L. Boyd (and wife, Wendy) of Newville, one brother, Wayne Boyd of Carlisle, one grandson, Brandon L. Boyd of Newville and several nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death bysix brothers; Dale, Dallas, Ellsworth, Myles, Guy and Marlin Boyd.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Donald C. Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
