Anna Mae Raudabaugh, 100, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle. She was born on April 1, 1918 in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Roy H. and Mary E. (Wise) Miller. She was the widow of longtime Carlisle barber, Percy R. Raudabaugh, who passed away on Oct. 7, 1995.
Anna Mae graduated from Carlisle High School in 1935 and in 1948 she graduated from the Frederick's School of Cosmetology. She operated her own home beauty salon from 1954 to 1960 and previously worked for the former McCroy's 5 & 10 Store and the former Hazel Hoyaux Beauty Salon. Anna Mae was a member of the Carlisle First Church of God, where she was a Sunday School teacher and choir member. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Old Bellaire Chapter, Pythian Sisters, Carlisle Garden Club and Carlisle Civic Club. She also volunteered at the Dunham Army Hospital for 20 years and the Carlisle Hospital operating waiting room.
She is survived by one son, Richard L. (wife, Juanita) Raudabaugh of Mechanicsburg, two grandsons; Troy A. (wife, Deneen) Raudabaugh of Boiling Springs and Brian K. (wife, Debra) Raudabaugh of Carlisle, one granddaughter, Joni M. Raudabaugh of Carlisle, two great-grandchildren; Ashley A. Raudabaugh and Ryan T. Raudabaugh, both of Mt. Holly Springs, one great-great-granddaughter, Harley Raudabaugh, former daughter-in-law, Amy L. Raudabaugh of Carlisle and several nieces and nephews. Anna Mae was preceded in death by 3 brothers; John L. Miller, Roy Leon Miller and Marlin Miller and two sisters; Pauline Lohman and Jean Wickard.
A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Michael Poe officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle Garden Club, c/o Marion Fennell 712 Yorkshire Dr., Carlisle, PA 17013.
