Alta E. Mosemann, 92, of Newville, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, in her home. She was born on Friday, November 23, 1917, in Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Abram Metzler and Susan (Denglinger) Metzler Hartford, and the widow of Earl W. Mosemann, who died July 24, 2001.

Alta was a homemaker and a member of the Blue Ridge Mennonite Church, Carlisle.

She is survived by three sons; Joel M. Mosemann of Newville, James E. Mosemann of Edmonton, KY and David R. Mosemann of Raymond, Alberta, Canada, two daughters; Barbara A. Mosemann of Elk Hart, IN and Carol J. Beachy of Mylo, ND, a brother, Ted Metzler of Leola, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, in the Blue Ridge Mennonite Church, 2514 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, with Brother Stephen Ebersole, Brother Lamar Sensenig and Brother Laban Zimmerman officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service on Tuesday at the church and burial will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery in Lancaster. A viewing will held on Monday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Mennonite Church. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is assisting the family with the arrangements
