Obituary

Alice Paviol Stine, 85, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010, in the Golden Living Center - Blue Ridge Mountain in Harrisburg. She was born on Thursday, February 12, 1925, in Latimore Twp., Adams County, a daughter of the late Maurice A. and Alice E. (Wolfe) Paviol and the widow of John Marlin Stine, who died Oct. 11, 1996.

Alice graduated from Carlisle High School and also attended Shippensburg University. She and her late husband formerly owned and operated a farm in North Middleton Twp. for many years. She also worked as a secretary for Industries Limited and retired from the Borough of Carlisle as Borough Secretary. Alice also received certification as a Red Cross Nurse's Aid. She was a life member of Carlisle First Church of God, American Business Women's Association, Farm Women's Group #9 and a charter member of the Carlisle Art Association.

She is survived by her two loving and devoted daughters; Elizabeth B. Garman of Carlisle and Linda M. Bennett of Quaker Hill, CT, three grandchildren; Celice Horn, Stacy Mayberry and Dean Lehman, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held in Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle, with Rev. D. Alan Mathna officiating. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Living Center - Blue Ridge Mountain, Activity Department, 3625 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
