Aileen F. Rider, 93, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.  She was born on March 4, 1931, in Carlisle and was the daughter of the late James Floyd and Marie (Burgard) Floyd.  Aileen was the widow of Marlin R. Rider who passed away in 1993.

She was a 1948 graduate of Carlisle High School and earned her LPN from the Carlisle Hospital School of Practical Nursing in 1950.  Aileen enjoyed attending church services at Chapel Pointe.  She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star – Old Bellaire Chapter 375, a member of the Daughters of Nile – Zembo Temple 52, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem – Samaria Shrine 43, member of the Auxiliary of Knights of Templar 8 and the Auxiliary of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

She is survived by two sons, James W. Rider and his wife Pam of Lincoln, NE and Scott R. Rider and his wife Sandy of Newville, one daughter Ann Marie Dumm of Carlisle, eight grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, 11 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.  Aileen was preceded in death by one son Terry Rider in 2016, one son-in-law Denis Dumm in 2011 and one daughter-in-law Christine Rider in 2014.

A viewing will begin at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Chaplain Linda Slusser officiating.  The Eastern Star will hold a service at 1:00 p.m.  The burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.  Visit www.Since1853 to send condolences.
