Obituary

Agnes M. Gillingham, 93, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Legends at Silver Creek, Mechanicsburg.  She was born on May 23, 1931, in Monessen and was the daughter of the late Steeve Temoshenka and Anna (Homcho) Temoshenka and was the widow of Gerald A. Gillingham, who passed away on March 21, 1999.

Agnes graduated from Monessen High School with the Class of 1949.  She was a devoted homemaker and member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle.

She is survived by her children, William T. Gillingham of Carlisle, Patricia A. (Richard Brownewell) Gillingham of Middletown, Rev. Lois K. (Dean) Van Orden of Carlisle, Samantha G. Seely of Shermans Dale and Gerald A. S. Gillingham of Carlisle, grandchildren, SFC Philip (Sara) Van Orden, Elizabeth Van Orden, Seth (Catherine) Seely, Colton Gillingham and step-grandson Troy (Tia) Marsh, two great-granddaughters, Juniper Seely and Amara Seely, one step-great-grandson Dakota Marsh and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one son-in-law Scott Seely.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 21 S. Bedford St., Carlisle with Rev. Lisa Leber officiating.  The burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Memorial Contributions may be made to First Lutheran Building to Serve, 21 S.
