Seymour was born in Carlisle
in 1926, the son of William J. Ewing & Jessie Morrison Ewing. He graduated from Carlisle High School in 1944. Following graduation
he served in the United States Navy during World War II. After two years of dedication
to his country, he returned home to Carlisle. Seymour's father, William J., died in 1934 leaving Seymour's
mother, Jessie, to operate the family funeral home under a widows license.
Seymour enrolled at Eckels College of Mortuary Science, Philadelphia
in September of 1946. He embraced the experience with the passion of a fourth
generation Ewing funeral director. Upon graduation Seymour traveled back to Carlisle and completed his internship. Along with his twin brother Bill, they took control of the family business in December
of 1949. Seymour has been serving families in
the greater Carlisle area for over half a century.
